Why won’t a personal injury lawyer take my case?

There are many factors that go into the preliminary groundwork that helps a lawyer determine if they should take a case or not. Just as there are many reasons as to why a personal injury lawyer takes a case, there are many reasons why a personal injury lawyer would not take your case. First and foremost, if the case is not economically feasible. For example, if you did not suffer any injuries, or very small injuries (a minor scrape or bruise), then your case would most likely not be picked up by a personal injury lawyer. Another example is if you had some injuries, but you never received treatment or waited a week or more to get medical treatment, leaving a huge gap in treatment. This makes it much more difficult for the lawyer to negotiate in court and insurance adjusters will assume that because you didn’t get any treatment, you must be fine. Another reason would be that you do not need help from a personal injury lawyer. You may need a different kind of lawyer to help you with your case.
